Capital Region Energy Forum (CREF) monthly meeting and presentation "Challenges and Potential Solutions for Nuclear Renaissance"

I think this coming meeting, Monday May 14 is going to be one you won’t want to miss.

Yes, the buffet ($27) opens as usual at the Italian American Community Center at ~6pm. And, as usual if you wish to bypass the dinner and come only for the several presentations that will follow (at no charge), starting at ~6:45pm, that is really OK too.

We will begin at ~6:45pm with three short CREF discussions/presentations:

1. CREF members---Peter Kent, John Schnebly and Richard Alben will present (5 minutes each) “What’s New This Month in the Field of Energy”. This is a new addition to our monthly meetings.

2. Before finalizing them, Gene Zeltmann, John Schnebly and I will tell you about our near-final plans for a community-wide CREF Public Energy Symposium this October, a followon to Heinberg last year.

3. We will briefly discuss the CREF Protocol which is advancing to final form just now. Hopefully, a copy will be emailed to you in a day or two, in advance of Monday’s meeting.

AND THE PRESENTATION OF THE EVENING IS RATHER SPECIAL:

Dr. Max Peter, an energy systems analyst and nuclear physicist with GE Global Research will be speaking on

CHALLENGES AND POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS FOR NUCLEAR RENAISSANCE IN THE U.S.

This is really a great topic. I hope that you will not only come yourselves, but use this opportunity to reach out to your friends, and bring them with you.

Dr. Peter’s presentation will begin at 7:30pm, and conclude by 9pm.

….and a footnote….Howard Hart is speaking next month TUESDAY, JUNE 12th (note day change) on

SUSTAINABILITY

(another 4-star subject, don’t you think?) Paul Swartz/CREF Chair
