This interview took place yesterday on DemocracyNow.org and does the best job of explaining our current economy and the need to support farmers’ markets. I highly recommend viewing it or reading the transcript.

David Korten: “Agenda for a New Economy: From Phantom Wealth to Real Wealth”

As President Barack Obama reveals more details of his $825 billion economic stimulus plan, DemocracyNow.org turns to David Korten of Bainbridge Island, WA and YES! Magazine. In his new book, Korten argues that the nation faces a monumental economic challenge that goes far beyond anything being discussed in Congress. He writes that now is an opportune moment to move forward an agenda to replace the failed money-serving institutions of our present economy with the institutions of a new economy dedicated to serving life.

Re: David Korten: “Agenda for a New Economy: From Phantom Wea

Sid,

Thanks for passing this along. I didn’t realize David Korten had a new book coming out. I love his stuff, so I’ve just pre-ordered it from Amazon (some types of consumerism will die hard for this reader).

Good seeing you last night!

Lori
